Vibrating Colours
Colour, Pattern, Behaviours, Aesthetics, Pleasurability, Harmony

Vibrating Colours is a collection exploring the elusive behaviours of colour specifically within traditional geometric patterns. Aiming to subvert a typical idea of aesthetic harmony and interrogate the narrow conception of the aesthetic on which its defence as art has been based, I explore these colour interactions through varied mediums such as machine knit, screen and digital print. The experimental approach to knit and wovens in this collection was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Australian Wool Education Trust (AWET).The embodiment of these prints warps colour and pattern around the body, enhancing their interactions and in turn, questions the notion that within fashion colour can act as a vessel for confusion and duplicity as well as harmony and cohesion.
