Workwear, Identity, Liberation

I am exploring the concept that "women define their own workwear", this collection tells the story from the transition of hidden femininity, to true liberation from bondage, discussing women's exploration of self through clothing. My collection embraces the feminine in women's workwear, combining practicality and beauty, inspired by my mother's experience as a young factory worker in China in the 1970s-90s. The redefinition of women's workwear goes beyond the clothing itself, to play the role of negotiating identity, as women explore the realm of personality. In this collection I attempt to redefine women’s workwear, conveying concepts with exaggerated design methods and experimental combinations of print. A playful exploration of textiles has been made possible through a generous sponsorship of Liberty Fabric London.
